Gao Liuzhou 數十年來在中國各地品茶，他早已察覺到一個無聲的悲劇：那些美麗、對光敏感的茶葉，在強光照射下的櫃檯上逐漸失去光彩。400毫升琥珀色儲存罐的誕生，始於 Gao 與山東一家世代生產藥瓶的家族玻璃作坊之間的對話。他們一起測試色調濃度，直到找到一種能阻隔超過90%紫外線傳遞的琥珀色，同時不掩蓋罐身溫暖的光澤。
木蓋則是後來才出現的，那是 Gao 拜訪雲南一位使用老茶倉回收櫸木的木工師傅之後。每個蓋子都經過精準車削，配以食品級矽膠密封圈，輕柔地密封。容量 — 400毫升 — 是為了裝下大約兩週的茶量，正是 Gao 自己手邊常備的量。
